Job summary

Churchill Downs Incorporated is seeking an Event Concierge in Oak Grove, KY to support group events and banquets. You will work with Food & Beverage and Marketing to ensure seamless event execution and guest satisfaction.

The role requires high energy, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to stand and walk extensively, with weekend, holiday, and night availability. A Kentucky gaming license is preferred and prior AV experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in hospitality, entertainment, sports, or similar environment preferred.
• Audio/visual setup experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create a fun and engaging event environment with flawless service delivery.
• Maintain company service standards and coach team members as needed.
• Ensure safety and security of employees and guests.
• Set up rooms per banquet event orders and perform table/buffet arrangements.
• Coordinate with F&B and Marketing to finalize event details the day-of.

Oak Grove: Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel (the “Property”) is a newer facility in a high traffic area in the heart of Oak Grove, Kentucky, and across the street from a large Army post, Ft. Campbell. The Property is 10 miles from Clarksville, TN and less than 60 miles northwest of downtown Nashville, TN.

The Event Concierge works directly with the Food & Beverage and Marketing departments to facilitate group events and banquets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Creates and ensures a fun-filled, entertaining and exciting environment where the flawless delivery and execution of service excellence is paramount.
• Upholds the company and departmental service standards while ensuring the coaching/accountability measures are enforced.
• Ensures the safety and security of employees and customers.
• Completes room set up, following the floor plan as well as banquet event order.
• Executes table setting, buffet setups, displays, and bars following the banquet event order.
• Conducts closing down and cleanup of banquet spaces.
• Contacts F&B and Marketing teams in advance to confirm all details related to the event and assists the team in facilitating plans and fully responding to day-of requests.
• Ensures courteous, professional, sincere, and responsive communications with all customers (internal and external).
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Maintaining interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
• Detail-oriented with a positive attitude and energy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task.
• Extensive walking is typically required.
• Performing physical work required to set up events.
• Available to work when needed, including weekends, holidays, and nights.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience working in hospitality, entertainment, sports, or a similar environment.
• Prior experience with audio visual equipment setup and operation is a plus.
• Able to obtain and maintain a valid Kentucky gaming/racing license
