Job summary

Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium is seeking an Events Captain to oversee the execution of public, private, and internal events. The role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and excellent communication to manage teams, vendors, and guests across daytime and evening events.

Responsibilities

• Lead event staff and volunteers during assigned events.
• Set up, operate, and tear down event spaces and equipment.
• Coordinate with clients, vendors, and zoo staff for smooth operations.
• Ensure safety, security, and adherence to policies during events.
• Assist with bar setup, service, and cash handling as needed.
• Manage timelines and communicate goals to team before and during events.
• Escorts for vendors and guests to support event logistics.
• Complete incident reports and post-event cleanup and handover.
