You will deliver exceptional service to members and guests throughout banquets and catering events. You will read and follow Banquet Event Orders, assist with tastings and beverage service, maintain cleanliness in FOH and BOH, and support the Events Manager with smooth function timing.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of FOH and BOH areas; clear dishes as needed.
• Assist in closing functions and resetting rooms for next event.
• Attend staff pre-service meetings and follow food safety requirements.

Position Summary:

The Events/Banquet Server will set up, execute, and clean events/banquets while maintaining a professional appearance and “ready to serve attitude.” Will provide exceptional customer service throughout the event to ensure the highest member/guest satisfaction standard.

Core Competencies

• Under the direction of the Events/Banquet Manager, set up, execute, and reset all events and event spaces ensuring the cleanliness and organization of FOH and BOH.
• Ability to execute all service types (i.e., Russian, French, American, buffet, etc.) in pursuit of “wow” moments and helps ensure member and guest satisfaction.
• Ensures that all state and local laws, club policies, and procedures for the service of alcoholic beverages are consistently followed.
• Helps maintain a dining ambiance with an enthusiastic attitude.

Position Responsibilities:

• Performs related event/banquet set-up tasks in accordance with the Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Able to read and understand a Banquet Event Order (BEO).
• Anticipates guests’ needs and exceeds customer service expectations.
• Ability to quickly adapt to last-minute changes and requests.
• Takes beverage orders and serves food in the specified station.
• Pours and refills wine, coffee, water, and other beverages served with and after the meal.
• Clears soiled dishes as needed.
• Cleans all assigned work areas in the kitchen and banquet areas.
• Advises supervisor of any member or guest complaints as soon as they occur.
• Assists in closing functions such as removing linen, bussing glasses, dishes, silverware, etc., and re-setting the room for the next function.
• Attends staff meetings including pre-service (line‑up) sessions.
• Consistently follows all food safety‑related requirements.
• Completes other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Events Manager/Supervisor and other Food and Beverage leadership team members.

Job Requirements:

• Must have the ability to balance multiple projects and have strong project and time management skills. Must possess high attention to detail.
• Must display an aptitude for working in a fast‑paced environment with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously, take direction, and exercise good judgment. Must have the ability to reason and apply common‑sense understanding to situations encountered.
• Must have authority to reason and apply common sense understanding to situations encountered.
• Must have a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills in order to communicate and work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Must use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others.

• Ability to simultaneously process routine daily functions, resolve sensitive issues, and complete complex assignments utilizing above‑average critical thinking skills.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.
• The physical demands of this position are representative of those that might be met by an employee for them to successfully perform the essential functions of the position. These include being both mobile and stationary throughout the workday and having the ability to transport fifty (50) pounds.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior banquet/event service in a fast‑paced, high‑volume, events environment is preferred.
• Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age or older.
• Food safety and alcohol beverage certification preferred.
