Job summary

The Club at Rolling Hills in Golden, CO is seeking a courteous banquet server to assist during events and ensure a memorable guest experience. You will set up banquet spaces, greet guests, serve courses, and respond to requests with a friendly, professional demeanor.

You should be able to move through crowded rooms, operate beverage equipment, and maintain high service standards. Prior server experience is preferred; availability for early shifts, weekends, and holidays is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Banquet Manager in serving guests during functions to ensure positive experiences.
• Set up banquet room as instructed, including linens, service ware, glassware, and décor.
• Attend pre-shift meetings to learn function particulars and guest expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly, courteous manner.
• Serve food and beverages per supervisor's instructions to maintain consistency.
• Promptly clear dishes as guests finish courses and reset room after functions.
• Comply with all alcohol-service laws and company policies.
• Communicate effectively with guests and co-workers, and support food & beverage service.

To be a successful banquet server, you should possess excellent customer service and communication skills. You should be professional, polite to guests, and an efficient server. You should be able to follow directions and be flexible to changing environments. It is important to be energetic, friendly, focused, efficient, and interactive with Members and guests.

Requirements

• Move through a crowded room continuously throughout the shift, with or without a tray.
• Ability to operate beverage equipment, e.g., a coffee maker, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences, such as effectively communicating with supervisors, coworkers, guests, etc.
• Have a friendly demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Banquet Manager in serving guests during banquet functions to ensure a positive guest experience.
• Set up banquet room as instructed by supervisor to include linen, service ware, glassware, and décor.
• Attend pre-shift meetings before events to learn function particulars, including guest and Club expectations.
• Greet guests and respond to requests in a friendly and courteous manner.
• Serve the food and/or beverage in the order and to the expectation of the Supervisor to ensure consistency throughout the banquet.
• Promptly remove dishes as guests complete each course and/or meal at the end of the meal or function.
• Abide by all State, Federal, and Corporate requirements pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
• Replenish beverages as necessary, and check with guests for overall satisfaction.
• Once the banquet is complete, reset the banquet room according to Supervisor’s specifications to ensure the readiness of the room for the following function.
• Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.
• Can communicate well with guests.
• Must be willing to “pitch in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Must have basic knowledge of food and beverage preparations, service standards, guest relations, and etiquette.
• Ability to remember, recite, and promote the variety of menu items.
