  • Adapt to changing needs and problem-solve in a fast-paced event environment.
  • Available to work a flexible schedule based on event needs, including some evenings and weekends.
  • Comfortable indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Able to lift and move up to 40 pounds.

  • Recruit, coordinate, schedule, and direct event volunteers.
  • Help establish a volunteer program, including recruitment, communication, scheduling, recognition, and retention.
  • Maintain volunteer information and track participation.
  • Track event expenses and assist with related payments or collections.
  • Organize, inventory, and maintain event supplies and materials.

Salary Range: $17.00 - $24.00 Hourly

Event & Volunteer Specialist (Temporary)

This is a Temporary, Part-Time Position, with the potential for extension.

Anticipated 10–20 hours per week | October 12, 2026 – March 19, 2027

Nature of Work

Under the direction of Marketing & Events leadership, this temporary position supports the planning, coordination, and execution of EPRD events from October through March. The position will coordinate event details, communicate with vendors, staff, participants, and volunteers, and provide hands-on support to ensure successful events. The position will also help develop and establish an EPRD volunteer program, including processes for recruiting, coordinating, communicating with, and retaining volunteers. Hours will vary based on the event schedule and may include evenings and weekends. This temporary position may have the opportunity to extend based on organizational needs.

Essential Functions
  • Coordinate assigned EPRD events, following established event plans, timelines, and procedures.
  • Serve as a point of contact for vendors, participants, staff, and volunteers before and during events.
  • Coordinate event logistics and respond to day-of needs, changes, and unexpected issues.
  • Provide hands-on support for event setup, operations, and teardown.
  • Work collaboratively with EPRD staff and departments to ensure events are appropriately staffed and supported.
  • Recruit, coordinate, schedule, and provide direction to event volunteers.
  • Help establish a consistent volunteer program, including processes for recruitment, communication, scheduling, recognition, and retention.
  • Maintain volunteer information and track participation and volunteer needs.
  • Track event expenses and assist with event-related payments or collections as needed.
  • Organize, inventory, and maintain event supplies and ensure materials are accounted for and properly stored.
  • Provide professional and responsive customer service to event participants, vendors, volunteers, and community members.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
