Salary Range: $27.00 - $30.00 hourly ($56,160 - $62,400 annual)

Position Overview

The Operations Event Technician is a full‑time position supporting the Operations Department and focusing primarily on event setup, tear down, changeovers and daily operational tasks. Event technicians assist in the pickup, delivery, installation, and movement of various equipment, furniture, and other materials as necessary, while adhering to operational safety standards and protocols. They must be able to perform manual labor duties, have a flexible schedule, and be able to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary. The Operations Event Technician will report to the Director of Operations.

Responsibilities
  • Handles setup and teardown of equipment, supplies, and other materials for operational needs and venue operations.
  • Assists in the maintenance and inventory control for all venue operational assets.
  • Assists with general upkeep of the campus.
  • Operates heavy equipment including pallet jacks, man lift, boom lifts, scissor lifts, and reach forks.
  • Complies with all safety policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Provides excellent customer service to the Milken School community across all venues and campus property.
  • Handles connections of AV equipment with various computer systems, monitors, lights, backgrounds, and sound.
  • Works with frequent interruptions while maintaining strong detail orientation; is flexible and adaptable under varied conditions and requirements.
  • Operates effectively in the absence of direct supervision.
  • Works with the IT department to assist with any AV needs or set‑ups.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid California Driver’s License.
  • At least 6 months of prior experience in event planning or production.
  • Able to work in a fast‑paced environment and execute under time constraints.
  • Able to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to multi‑task and maneuver between functions.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods.
  • Flexible schedule; available to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Experience in a performance venue work environment preferred.
  • Good problem‑solving skills, common sense, and good judgment.
  • Ability to work with and around people in a positive and cooperative manner.
  • Knowledge and demonstrated skills in handling sound, lighting and computer equipment.
Standard On‑Campus Hours

Monday – Friday or Sunday – Thursday: 10:00AM – 6:30PM (hours may vary depending on events). All schedules are subject to change.
