Job summary

RIEDEL Communications is seeking an Event Technician Motorsports to plan, configure, and support on-site radio, intercom, audio, and IT systems for international motorsport events. The role is flexible, with options for permanent or freelance engagement, and involves frequent travel to major racing events.

Qualifications

  • Advanced-level technical knowledge for events of various scales
  • Completed technical training in a relevant field (mechatronics, event technology, electronics, IT or communications electronics)
  • Strong expertise and enthusiasm for radio, intercom, audio and IT technologies
  • Willingness to travel frequently and flexibility for high-profile racing events
  • Excellent English communication skills; additional languages are a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and authorization to work in the US

  • Plan, prepare, and execute motorsport projects worldwide.
  • Set up, configure, and maintain analog and digital radio, intercom and video systems.
  • Deploy and manage small-to-mid IT systems and diagnose technical issues on-site and trackside.
  • Document setups, activities, and configurations; provide technical advice and recommendations.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and coordinate with event planners and racing teams.

The role offers flexibility and can be filled either as a permanent position or on a freelance basis.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • You plan, prepare, and execute motorsport projects worldwide.
  • You set up, configure, and maintain analog and digital radio communication systems, as well as wireless and wired intercom and video systems.
  • You deploy and manage small-to-mid-scale IT systems and diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues at the module level, both trackside and on-site with customers.
  • You document technical setups, project activities, and configurations, providing technical advice, feedback, and recommendations.
  • You keep an overview of equipment and manage the onsite inventory.
  • You effectively coordinate and work closely with event planners and racing teams in a dynamic and diverse environment.
THAT'S YOU
  • Advanced-level technical, operational, and troubleshooting knowledge to support equipment and requirements for events of various scales
  • Successfully completed technical training (e.g., mechatronics, event technology, electronics, IT, or communication electronics)
  • Strong expertise and enthusiasm for radio, intercom, audio, and IT technologies
  • Experience in motorsports, event technology, or broadcasting is a plus
  • High willingness to travel frequently and flexibility to participate in high-profile racing events
  • Passion for end-to-end project execution and problem-solving
  • Excellent English communication skills; additional languages are a plus
  • Valid driver’s license and authorization to legally work in the US
