Job summary

SBM Management Services, LP is seeking an Event Support Tech to assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces, and to perform light janitorial tasks between events. You will handle cleaning, restocking, and occasional deep cleaning as required, while following safety policies and reporting to supervision.

The role requires basic literacy, the ability to handle light equipment, and a professional appearance. Valid driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• Education/experience as described in the Education section.
• May require valid driver’s license as noted.
• Strong reading, writing and basic numeracy abilities.

Responsibilities

• Transport small equipment, chairs, tables and straighten areas (lobbies, conference rooms).
• Pick up trash, recycling and compost to proper disposal areas.
• Light vacuuming, dusting, restocking supplies.
• Clean desks, restrooms and break rooms between events; mop floors and clean glass.
• Follow safety rules and company procedures; take direction from supervision.

Title: Event Support Tech

Job Overview

The Event Support Technician will support the client event team with the set up and break down of event spaces. They will be assigned special project work (i.e. cleaning pop up desks, high dusting, deep cleaning floors, organizing closets) when not performing event tasks. May be asked to help with additional janitorial duties if needed.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Transport small equipment, tools, chairs, & tables, Straighten areas, such as lobbies, conference rooms.
• Pick up trash, recycling, and compost bins and transport to proper disposal areas.
• Light Vacuuming, Dusting, Restocking supplies.
• In between events will be asked to clean drop in desktops, assist janitorial staff with restocking restrooms & break rooms, damp mop floors, restroom cleaning, glass cleaning, restock and organize supplies in janitorial closets and storage areas, clean elevators, spot clean upholstered furniture and carpets, and dust open common spaces
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures. Stops at risk behavior of others and self.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand reporting systems, and of the environment.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/ or Experience

Less than high school education or up to one month related experience or training or equivalent combination of education & experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

May be required to have a valid driver's license

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to read 2-3 syllable words, recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
• Ability to print clearly and speak simple sentences.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervisors, managers, and customers.
• Know how to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
• Know the American measures of money, weight, size, length, shapes, distance and measures such as, cups, pints, quarts, gallons, etc.
• Required to have a valid driver's license if driving own vehicle or company vehicle on business time, will also require you have proof of vehicle registration and insurance.
• 1 year of custodial experience preferred
• Must be able to read and write in English.
• Bilingual preferred, not required.

Shifts and Compensation

Monday- Friday 7:00am-3:30pm

$21.30-$22.30 per hour
