Job summary

Oregon Metro in the Portland area is hiring an Event Setup and Custodial Worker to support the Oregon Convention Center and the Portland Expo Center. This hands-on role involves cleaning, setting up spaces and assisting with event operations; hours vary based on events.

You will maintain clean restrooms, breakrooms, and staging areas, perform light maintenance, and assist with banners and floor setups. Applicants should have a high school diploma and 2–3 years of similar facility experience,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two to three years of experience in a similar facility position.
• Eligible for forklift operator certification and CPR.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to pass background check.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain restrooms, breakrooms, and work areas.
• Set up and break down tables, chairs, and stages per event schematics.
• Assist with hanging banners using high‑lift equipment.
• Prepare rooms between events and reset layouts.
• Provide information to guests about events and services.
• Monitor spaces during events and restock supplies.
• Maintain professional appearance and attend to safety requirements.
• Operate motorized janitorial equipment safely.
