Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation in Tampa, FL is seeking an Event Set Up Supervisor to lead the team that prepares, refreshes, and breaks down meeting and banquet spaces for a wide range of events at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay.

You will coordinate room layouts, manage setup details, ensure safety and hotel standards, and collaborate with Banquet Operations and Event Planning to deliver polished guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Previous event setup experience; one year or more preferred.
• Strong communication, organization, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekdays and weekends.
• Ability to lift and move moderately heavy items and operate hotel vehicles if needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Event Set Up team during event setup, room changes, and breakdown.
• Review group detail reports and event instructions, then assign work and confirm priorities.
• Ensure meeting and banquet spaces are arranged accurately, including tables, chairs, water, and other requested items.
• Inspect completed setups and address discrepancies before guests arrive.
• Communicate event updates and needs clearly with meeting planners, Event Planning, Banquet Operations, and other departments.
• Provide guidance to colleagues, helping maintain a respectful, dependable, and service-focused team.
• Promote safe work practices and help keep equipment and storage areas clean and organized.
• Drive hotel vehicles, including box trucks and golf carts, to support hotel events, including off-property events.

Join the team at Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay as an Event Set Up Supervisor and take the next step in your food and beverage career. Located in Tampa, Florida, our hotel hosts a wide range of meetings and events. In this role, you’ll lead the team that transforms event spaces and helps create a polished, welcoming experience for guests.

You’ll guide and support Event Set-Up colleagues as they prepare, refresh, and break down meeting and banquet spaces. Using group detail reports and event requirements, you’ll coordinate room layouts, tables, chairs, water service, and other setup details. You’ll check that each space is ready on time and meets the event’s specifications, hotel standards, and safety expectations.

As a key partner to Banquet Operations, Event Planning, meeting planners, and other hotel departments, you’ll communicate changes, solve setup challenges, and help ensure events run smoothly. You’ll also guide colleagues, organize daily work, and model the teamwork and attention to detail that make a strong event experience possible.

This is an opportunity to build leadership experience in hotel food and beverage operations. You’ll develop skills in team direction, event logistics, guest service, and cross-department coordination valuable experience for continued growth in hospitality.
