You will lead by example on the floor, supporting our banquet colleagues and fostering a culture of efficiency, excellence, and connection during high-volume periods. Some of the responsibilities include:
  • Lead by example to create a respectful, engaging, and inclusive environment that reflects Hyatt’s purpose and culture.
  • Supervise the setup, execution, and teardown of events (including meetings, weddings, and banquets), ensuring adherence to EO (Banquet Event Order) specifications and timelines.
  • Maintain a strong and visible floor presence, actively engaging with event organizers, guests, and team members to ensure exceptional service delivery.
  • Supervise daily service across all event shifts, ensuring alignment with Forbes 5-Star service standards and departmental expectations.
  • Conduct pre-shift briefings, clearly assign event stations and tasks, and ensure all team members are well-prepared with knowledge of the menu, timing, and client expectations.
  • Demonstrate and uphold key Forbes standards:
  1. Using guest and client names to personalize service and foster connection.
  2. Greeting guests warmly and promptly with genuine enthusiasm.
  3. Maintaining positive, professional body language and polished appearance.
  4. Anticipating guest needs and delivering thoughtful, intuitive service.
  5. Offering sincere and gracious closing remarks to clients and guests.
  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of all banquet equipment, storage areas, and function spaces before, during, and after events.
  • Ensure that all setup, handover, and closing checklists are completed accurately and signed off by the appropriate party.
  • Champion strong communication and collaboration between the Event Services and Culinary teams to ensure timely food delivery.
  • Respond to client and guest feedback promptly, handling service recovery with care and professionalism.
  • Escalate operational concerns or BEO deviations to the Banquet Manager or Director of Events as needed.
  • Support onboarding and continuous training for team members, with a focus on service excellence, efficiency, and safety protocols.
  • Assist with administrative duties, post-event billing review, scheduling, and inventory as required.
  • Serve as a liaison to the client, confirming final details and acting as the on-site point of contact during event execution.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1–2 years of supervisory experience in a high-volume hotel banquets, catering, or event services operation.
  • Strong functional knowledge of banquet operational logistics, including table settings, room flips, and service styles (plated, buffet, reception).
  • A proactive, service-oriented mindset with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure, team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and POS/event management systems (e.g., Opera).
  • Experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on the event schedule.
