Job summary

Rhubarb, a chef-driven restaurant in downtown Asheville, reopened in 2026 and is hiring an Event Server to support the Special Event Coordinator, greet guests, and ensure a seamless, hospitality-forward experience for each event. This role is part-time or supplemental to existing schedules and invites teamwork in delivering memorable service.

The position emphasizes guest-centric service, farm-to-table hospitality, and a dynamic events environment, with opportunities to grow within the team.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of guest-facing/customer service experience.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Lift up to 50lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Special Event Coordinator in setting up the Event Space according the Banquet Event Order.
• Greet guests and respond to inquiries as they enter the space.
• Run food and beverages according to the BEO and timeline.
• Clear and reset small wares as needed.
• Assist with event break down.

The Person

As an Event Server at Rhubarb, you believe that great service starts with a genuine personality. You believe that the whole process is important when it comes to dining: from sourcing our produce and proteins locally and farm-direct, tosustainability, to working as a team to execute a consistent experience for our guests. You are looking to supplement an existing schedule or interested in part time work.
