Job summary

BEST Crowd Management in University of Texas at Austin is seeking an Event Security Officer to help safeguard attendees, staff, and property during university events. You will monitor entrances, patrol areas, and coordinate with client staff and authorities to maintain a secure environment.

The role is part-time with a pay of $20/hr. Candidates must be 18+, hold a high school diploma (some college preferred), and be willing to pass background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old and comply with local regulations.
• High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
• Experience in event security, law enforcement, or related field is advantageous.
• Physically fit to stand or walk for extended periods.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work in a team and with diverse individuals.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on event schedules.
• Possess a valid security license or be willing to obtain one.
• Able to pass a background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Make a positive impact by maintaining a visible and professional presence to client and BEST standards.
• Patrolling assigned areas to deter unauthorized activity and ensure safety.
• Monitor access points, conduct bag checks, entry screenings, and stay vigilant for suspicious activity.
• Respond promptly to security incidents or emergencies, including medical emergencies.
• Coordinate with event staff, law enforcement, and EMS to support security efforts.
• Provide exceptional customer service by assisting attendees and giving directions.
• Report security occurrences to the supervisor or medical personnel as required.
• Create and maintain documentation of activities observed and submit to leadership.
• Uphold company policies and guidelines to maintain professionalism and security.
