Job summary

Join the Event Security Team at Lamar University with Allied Universal Event Services. This role offers flexible part-time hours and weekly pay, with on-site security duties at the university venue.

Training is provided, and a Level 2 Security License (Guard Card) is required to perform duties effectively. Starting pay is $16/hour, with responsibilities including bag checks, access control, and ensuring guest safety.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Background check and post-offer drug/alcohol test are required.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Outstanding oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in all aspects of event day preparation and execution.
• Control access by verifying tickets, direct crowd flow, and checking credentials.
• Screen guests at entry with bag search, wand or metal detector, and ID checks.
• Protect guests, staff, and venue assets by monitoring for security breaches at key points.
• Provide escorts for unruly guests when necessary and support crowd control as needed.
• Follow venue policies and procedures for safety and guest experience.
