Job summary

Hyatt Hotels Corporation is seeking a Catering Sales Manager to grow existing business and generate new catering leads in a dynamic environment. The role involves prompt lead response, event planning, and delivering exceptional client service across multiple segments.

You will coordinate menus, BEOs, and event logistics, while collaborating with operations and accounting to ensure smooth execution and timely invoicing. This is a hands-on role within Hyatt’s catering sales team.

Qualifications

• Previous catering/sales experience required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in planning and execution.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Experience with Envision and Opera software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Grow current business and solicit new catering clients through lead generation.
• Promptly respond to incoming leads and actively pursue opportunities.
• Identify key sales targets across sectors to build a strong pipeline.
• Book, sell, plan and coordinate catering events while exceeding expectations.
• Provide exceptional customer service to retain clients and drive referrals.
• Support convention services manager when workload requires.
• Create and maintain BEOs and communicate changes to staff.
• Coordinate with catering partner QA to develop menus and setup/teardown.
• Collaborate with accounting to ensure timely invoicing and payments.

The primary responsibility will be to grow current business and solicit new business through lead generation. The catering sales manager will promptly reply to incoming leads, actively and aggressively solicit new catering customers and identify key sales targets in all sectors.

Other essential duties include booking, selling, planning and coordinating all catering events while exceeding expectations. This position will provide best in class customer service to retain clients and encourage client referrals. This role will also serve a convention services manager on occasion based on workload of the group sales department. Identify and target new business leads to build a solid sales pipeline

• Employ creative sales tactics to generate leads in a variety of ways
• Monitor event space to maximize all available dates
• Generate optimum revenue through room rental and food & beverage menus
• Generate revenue; meet or exceed revenue goals
• Attend networking and industry events to garner sales leads and increase brand awareness
• Be aware of event opportunities generated by local events, planners, etc.
• Effectively communicate with catering partner, QED, to create menus, coordinate setup and tear down
• Generate detailed BEO’s with all details for catering staff; update in main BEO book and communicate changes through established guidelines
• 35 % serving of group events as well rooms only blocks.
• Prepare event resumes for ALL booked events to properly convey event details to the operations staff
• Work with the accounting department Ensure all invoices and payments are submitted timely

Qualifications

Previous Catering/Sales Experience required

Highly resourceful team-player

Ability to organize and prioritize deadline-driven tasks

Detail-oriented task manager

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel

Experience in Envision and Opera software a strong plus
