Job summary

The Milwaukee Public Museum in Milwaukee, WI is seeking an energetic Event Sales Specialist to drive new business and manage key client accounts from inquiry through on-site execution.

Responsibilities include market research, site visits, leading external sales calls, coordinating with vendors, guiding clients through planning and logistics, and ensuring revenue goals are met with timely CRM-based proposals and reports.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2–5 years in events preferred.
  • Proven experience in sales and customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with MS Office and CRM experience.
  • Able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays, peak periods.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and grow new business by market research, site visits, outside calls, and attendance at industry events.
  • Supervise and guide the Event Coordinator.
  • Respond to incoming leads within 24 hours to secure repeat business.
  • Guide clients through planning and detail event logistics.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and fiscal-year revenue goals and provide weekly sales activity reports.
  • Use CRM to prepare proposals, contracts, and invoices, and track client communications.
  • Coordinate with vendors and prepare event materials; execute on-site as needed.
  • Communicate logistics with Events Team to ensure client vision is realized.
  • Support group sales, birthday parties, and internal events as needed.
  • Assist Director with promotional materials and website updates.
  • Ensure compliance with museum policies.

Position Type: Full Time
Salary Range: $52,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year

Responsibilities
  • Prospect and grow new business by conducting market research for new leads, leading site visits, conducting outside sales calls, and attending industry networking events and local tradeshows.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to the Event Coordinator.
  • Ensure repeat business by following up with existing clients, including responding to incoming leads within 24 hours.
  • Guide clients through the planning process and detail event logistics.
  • Meet or exceed monthly and fiscal year revenue goals while also delivering weekly reports on sales activity and pacing for revenue goals.
  • Use CRM software to prepare event sales proposals, contracts, and invoices, record client communications, and process payments and invoices.
  • Prepare vendor leads and communicate and coordinate regularly with vendors.
  • Execute events as needed, overseeing high-level client events and providing on-site supervision as determined by the Director and the event calendar.
  • Effectively communicate logistics with the Events Team, ensuring the client’s vision is executed.
  • Provide support for group sales, birthday parties, and internal events as needed.
  • Assist the Director with the development and execution of promotional materials and events, including website updates and marketing materials.
  • Ensure compliance with museum and event policies.
Qualifications

  • Proven experience in sales and customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in MS Office applications and previous experience with CRM software.
  • The ability to work a flexible schedule as needed, including evenings, weekends, holidays, peak business periods, and events.
