Position Summary

The Event Consultant is a senior sales professional responsible for driving revenue growth through the sale of Curated Events' diverse rental offerings while delivering an exceptional client experience. This role develops new business, grows existing client relationships, and consistently meets or exceeds sales and profitability goals.

As a trusted advisor to clients and a leader within the sales team, the Senior Event Consultant partners with the Senior Sales Manager to support team development, mentor Event Consultants, share best practices, and promote continuous improvement. Success in this role requires strong relationship management, strategic selling, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute strategic sales plans for assigned accounts while identifying opportunities for long-term growth, key account development, and strengthening the Curated Events brand within the market.
  • Cultivate relationships with existing clients, understand the depth of the partnership and their rental needs for future events.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and market conditions while providing recommendations to leadership on new products, service offerings, pricing strategies, and sales initiatives.
  • Lead consultations for complex events, providing creative rental solutions and serving as a trusted advisor throughout the planning process.
  • Provides timely and accurate customer contracts; work with management for the approval of pricing changes while maintaining maximum profit margins.
  • Utilize CRM/contact management resources to manage customer sales strategies and activities to ensure account penetration.
  • Attend key client events, support successful event execution, and serve as the sales lead for high-profile or complex events while partnering with Operations and Production teams.
  • Serve as a resource for resolving complex client concerns and escalated service issues while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction and supporting teammates with challenging situations.
  • Lead post-event reviews for major events, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and share key learnings and best practices with the sales team.
  • Actively participate in department meetings while contributing ideas, sharing best practices, mentoring teammates, and helping drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

Four year degree (Bachelors) in business, sales or marketing preferred; proven track record of success and achievement with five years outside sales experience (B2B and B2C) or one year CE customer facing experience. Experience will preferably be in the hospitality, managed services or advertising industries.

Experience in event rentals, hospitality, luxury events, destination management, venues, catering, or related industries preferred.

Demonstrated success managing complex client relationships and strategic accounts.

Experience mentoring, coaching, or serving as a resource for peers is preferred.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to author sales strategies, employee reviews and other complex correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and large group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Ability:

Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability:

Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
