Job summary

Ampa Events is seeking an entry-level coordinator in the event industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. A bachelor’s degree in hospitality, PR, business, marketing, communications, or related fields is required, and no prior event experience is needed because we provide training.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in client consultations to understand event goals, budgets, and creative direction.
  • Assist in developing event concepts, mood boards, presentations, and design materials.
  • Support creation of floor plans, renderings, and visual presentations using design tools.
  • Research and source furnishings, décor, lighting, graphics, and specialty items.
  • Help prepare design proposals and client presentations.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, products, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to bring concepts to life.
  • Build relationships with prospective and existing clients via calls, emails, networking, and follow-up communications.
  • Support business development through outreach initiatives.
  • Participate in client meetings and presentations.
  • Assist in preparing proposals, estimates, and sales materials.
  • Provide exceptional customer service throughout the client experience.
  • Serve as a professional representative of Ampa Events in interactions with clients, vendors, and industry partners.

Job description

This is an entry-level position designed for someone eager to build a career in the event industry. A degree is required in related fields such as hospitality management, public relations, business, marketing, communications, event management.

No prior event industry experience is required—we will provide training. What matters most is your attitude, work ethic, and willingness to learn.

What to Expect

Project Coordination & Event Execution
  • Assist with project planning, timelines, and project documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to support successful event execution.
  • Help track project details and ensure deliverables remain on schedule.
  • Assist with event installations, setup, and breakdown as needed.
  • Support on‑site event execution and help troubleshoot challenges as they arise.
  • Follow company safety procedures and event production standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements Education
  • Bachelor's degree required.
Skills & Experience
  • No prior event industry experience required; training will be provided.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable speaking with clients and prospects by phone, email, and in person.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace.
  • Experience with design software, CRM systems, or event planning tools is a plus, but not required.
