Job summary

CHICAGOLAND SPEEDWAY in Joliet, Illinois, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to keep the facility, equipment, and grounds safe and event-ready. This hands-on role covers preventive maintenance, repairs, and everyday upkeep across buildings and systems.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, 2–4 years of maintenance experience, and strong safety awareness. You’ll work with plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and trade pros, with flexible hours to support events.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–4 years of maintenance experience.
• Working knowledge of general facility maintenance, repair practices, tools.
• Ability to perform hands-on maintenance and construction tasks.
• Strong safety awareness and hazard identification.
• Good verbal and written communication; able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve facility appearance and condition through repairs and projects.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing, HVAC, interiors, exteriors, parking lots.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine service on equipment and assets.
• Assist with event setup, execution, and breakdown.
• Coordinate with plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and contractors.
• Follow safety practices and maintain a safe environment.
• Respond to work orders and maintenance requests.
• Communicate effectively with teammates and vendors.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
