Job summary

NASCAR seeks maintenance support at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. You will help maintain and improve the facility, assist with events, and manage equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operations in a fast-paced motorsports environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED with 2–5 years related experience, plus proficiency in MS Office and hands-on skills with heavy equipment and basic carpentry/welding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2–5 years related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedures, and manuals.
• Microsoft Office proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of operating mowing equipment, fork trucks, skid loaders, backhoes, tractors, jet dryers, and lifts; welding/carpentry skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/refurbish facility assets to keep operations in top condition.
• Inspect plumbing, HVAC, interiors, exteriors, and parking areas; repair as needed.
• Perform routine maintenance to extend asset life and reliability.
• Provide emergency assistance for inoperative vehicles/equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs.
• Maintain knowledge of owned/rented equipment and tools.
• Assist with event operations for varying event sizes.
• Supervise trade personnel (plumbers, electricians, carpenters) as needed.
• Adhere to safety practices and identify hazards to ensure a safe workplace.
• Assist with general facility maintenance and construction projects.
• Process work orders and respond to maintenance requests.
• Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
