Job summary

The Hampton Roads Convention Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Housekeeper to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests, clients, and team members. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the facility is event-ready by performing a variety of housekeeping, janitorial, and event support duties throughout the Convention Center.

Position includes routine cleaning, restroom cleaning, floor care, window cleaning, setup and breakdown of event spaces,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months janitorial/housekeeping experience preferred in a convention center, arena, hotel, or similar facility.
• Ability to work independently while exercising sound judgment and initiative.
• Strong verbal communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and deep cleaning of the facility, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, trash removal, restroom cleaning and stocking, and floor care.
• Maintain cleanliness of offices, service areas, and exterior spaces including entrances and parking areas.
• Prepare meeting rooms and assist with event setup and breakdown of tables, chairs, and equipment.
• Operate light cleaning equipment safely and report maintenance needs to appropriate department.
