Join us as an Event Production Technician at AVI-SPL
We are seeking a skilled Event Production Technician to contribute to the design, setup, and support of onsite and hybrid events for a global technology client. This role involves:
- Applying technical expertise and creative innovation to develop the technical strategy for live events based on creative vision and event scope;
- Ensuring flawless operation of video equipment through deep knowledge and real-time decision-making;
- Collaborating with team members to optimize production control room setup and troubleshoot production facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical consultation for production strategies aligned with event goals.
- Design, set up, and configure control room elements for high-quality client events.
- Test and ensure quality control of hardware, equipment, and production assets prior to events.
- Oversee operational aspects of production including technical direction, audio mixing, camera operation, virtual platform management, graphics, video playback, streaming, lighting, and teleprompter use.
- Support staging and creative lighting design.
- Optimize equipment configurations and recommend repairs or replacements as needed.
- Participate in team meetings to coordinate event procedures and production briefs.
Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience in event production, broadcast, or related fields.
- Minimum 1 year of experience with onsite, virtual, and hybrid live events.
- Experience with control room equipment, virtual production platforms, and broadcast software.
- Attention to detail and a creative eye for broadcast production.
- Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and ability to work under pressure.
- Self-motivated with excellent collaboration and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and respond proactively to communication channels.
Educational and Technical Requirements
- Experience with Ross production environments, Yamaha audio consoles, Panasonic PTZ cameras, and post-production software such as Adobe Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
- College degree in video production, broadcasting, communications, or similar.
- Valid driver’s license, ability to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform overhead work.
