City Park-Conservancy in New Orleans is seeking a Seasonal Events Manager to assist the Director of Special Events with planning and managing Celebration in the Oaks. The role involves coordinating driving tour and walking tour activities and supervising staff to ensure a positive guest experience.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, 1–3 years of event-related experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Successful planning of medium-sized and large events.
  • Excellent organizational and communicative skills.
  • Excellent computer skills with knowledge of computer graphics, e-blasting, Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, as well as practical problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Driving tour - Manage daily setup and take down of driving tour tent operations, including scanners, safety cones, and lights.
  • Driving tour - Oversee and manage driving tour ticket scanners.
  • Driving tour - Troubleshoot any customer issues on-site.
  • Driving tour - Troubleshoot and communicate any Wi‑Fi issues with on-site ticketing issues.
  • Walking tour - Turn on and off all lights in Botanical Garden each operating night.
  • Walking tour - Oversee and manage the ticket scanners in the Tolmas Center.
  • Walking tour - Make sure all equipment is charged up and ready for each day.
  • Walking tour - Check the grounds on an hourly rotating basis for any light outages and report to the foreman.
  • Walking tour - Handle any/all customer issues.
