Job description

Our client is a global financial technology leader that helps businesses manage their finances, grow, and operate with confidence. Its platform serves millions of customers, from small businesses to a growing mid-market segment that is outgrowing traditional SMB solutions and exploring more robust ERP capabilities. Known for a highly collaborative culture, the company is investing heavily in reaching finance leaders where they are, including at some of the largest industry events in the country.

Job Description

This is a newly created role that, despite the "Marketing Manager" title, is a true event strategy position. You will own the strategy around the events: why the company attends, how it activates, who it targets, what messaging it uses, and how leads are captured and followed up on. An agency partner already handles most production and logistics, so your focus is on strategy, not execution.

You'll work closely with Product Marketing, Sales Ops, and the event agency to ensure every trade show and sponsorship supports business priorities and generates measurable pipeline. Your main audience will be CFOs and senior finance leaders at emerging mid-market and mid-market companies, at events ranging from 1,000-attendee gatherings to major shows with 65,000+ attendees.

The ideal candidate is a strategic event marketer who loves connecting the dots between a great activation and real business results, and who is comfortable influencing stakeholders across a large, collaborative organization.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop the strategy for industry trade shows and sponsorships.
  • Research and recommend events based on the target audience and ICP.
  • Create strategic briefs for the event agency and review their concepts, pushing for stronger activations when needed.
  • Ensure event messaging aligns with current business and product priorities.
  • Guide the agency on booth strategy, activations, and speaking sessions.
  • Coordinate speaker preparation when needed.
  • Track event budgets, spend, and forecasts.
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Sales Ops, and other internal teams.
  • Track leads from capture through routing and follow-up, and help reassign leads that aren't being worked.
  • Improve pre- and post-event communications, including more tailored nurture programs.
  • Measure event performance, ROI, and pipeline impact.
Required Experience/Skills
  • Strong B2B event and trade show strategy experience, with a strategic (not production-heavy) mindset.
  • Experience with large industry conferences and sponsorships.
  • Understanding of lead generation, pipeline, and event ROI.
  • Experience with budget tracking and forecasting.
  • Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and agencies at once.
  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to say "no" diplomatically while keeping stakeholders comfortable.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to navigate a large organization independently.
  • Self-starter who can map out their own work.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20-30% (typically 3 days or less, planned well in advance)
Nice-to-Haves
  • Technology or SaaS industry experience.
  • Previous experience at the client company, as a contractor or employee.
  • Familiarity with CRM and lead routing processes (Salesforce is not required).
Pay & Benefits Summary
  • Hybrid work arrangement with schedule flexibility
  • Travel reimbursement for events
  • Contract, 1 year from start date
