Cognition is seeking a hands-on events specialist to own the full event experience, from initial concept through on-site execution in San Francisco. You’ll manage budgets, vendors, and senior technical buyers, working closely with sales and marketing to ensure a seamless attendees’ journey.
The ideal candidate thrives under pressure, pays meticulous attention to detail, and can craft distinctive event moments that showcase our AI software.
This is a hands-on events job where one person owns the whole experience, from early concept to the last onsite detail. It asks for a few years of running events of many sizes, managing vendors and budgets, and hosting senior technical buyers while working closely with sales and marketing. A strong candidate is calm under pressure, careful with details, and still creative enough to make an event feel distinctive.
AI tools can speed up the planning side of events, such as drafting guides, follow-up emails, run-of-show documents and post-event reports. The human parts stay central: reading a room, negotiating with venues, hosting executives, and solving problems on the spot. For a company selling an AI software engineer, in person events are also a place where skeptical buyers can meet the product and the people behind it.
The role puts someone close to a fast-moving AI company whose product is an autonomous coding agent, so attendees will include engineering leaders curious about how it works. Experience would come from designing demos and booth moments that explain agent-based software, and from reading event data to see what messages land. Outside the job, a candidate can build familiarity by trying AI coding tools and using AI assistants for event documents and follow-up drafts.
