Job summary

JB DUKE HOTEL in Durham, NC seeks an Event Manager to plan, organize, and execute a wide range of events, maintaining brand standards and guest satisfaction. You will lead multi-project initiatives, coordinate venues, catering, transportation, and accommodations, and manage budgets.

This role requires strong organizational skills, creativity, and experience with weddings, social and corporate events, plus reading BEOs. 2-3 years in a high-volume hotel or similar setting preferred.

Qualifications

  • 2-3 years of experience as an Event Manager in a high-volume hotel, resort, or golf club.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in large-scale Banquets.
  • Highly organized and ability to read and decipher BEOs.
  • Experience with weddings/social and corporate events.
  • Developed English skills both written and orally.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement event plans and concepts, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Coordinate all event logistics, including venue selection, catering, transportation, and accommodation.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial constraints.
  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote events and maximize attendance.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to secure the best possible terms and services.
  • Oversee event setup, execution, and breakdown, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and efficiently.
  • Lead and manage event staff and volunteers, providing clear direction and support.
  • Evaluate event success through feedback and data analysis, implementing improvements for future events.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
