Job summary

Gecko Hospitality (Corporate) seeks a Banquet Manager to oversee all operational aspects of the banquet department, ensuring flawless event execution and guest experiences.

This hands-on leader will develop strong teams, coordinate with Sales and Restaurant teams, manage staffing and training, and drive efficiency and service excellence across local and destination markets.

Responsibilities

  • Fully accountable for day-to-day operations of the banquet department, including event execution, staffing, service standards, and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain high levels of service, atmosphere, and professionalism to position the department as a leader within the hotel for both local and destination markets.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant team to coordinate staffing, scheduling, and event coverage.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the Sales team and the Banquet department to ensure accurate event details, timely updates, and smooth handoffs.
  • Participate in planning unique or high-impact events with Sales to differentiate the hotel from competing venues.
  • Oversee scheduling for banquet servers, bartenders, and captains to ensure proper coverage and labor efficiency.
  • Work with Restaurant leadership to align staffing needs across departments.
  • Ensure proper coverage when BQ manager is not on property.
  • Develop banquet captains to consistently deliver the expected standards for all events.
  • Train captains to independently run events, reducing the need for manager presence at every function.
  • Train captains to complete weekly administrative and paperwork tasks.
  • Develop the Set-Up Supervisor to take full accountability for supervising the set-up crew, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete room preparation.
  • Continuously evaluate service delivery, guest feedback, and event outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Implement best practices that enhance efficiency, elevate guest satisfaction, and strengthen the hotel’s competitive advantage.

Key Responsibilities:
Department Leadership & Operations
  • Fully accountable for the day-to-day operations of the banquet department, including event execution, staffing, service standards, and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain high levels of service, atmosphere, and professionalism to position the department as a leader within the hotel for both local and destination markets.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant team to coordinate staffing, scheduling, and event coverage.
