Job summary

The John & Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota, FL, is seeking an events assistant to manage venue logistics for a range of events. You will move and arrange tables, chairs, lighting, and related gear around the Ringling campus while setting up and operating A/V equipment.

You’ll ensure timely preparation and teardown, coordinate with vendors, clients, and staff, and uphold event policies for safety and conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida driver’s license or ability to obtain prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Carry and move tables, chairs, lighting, and other event equipment around the Ringling's 66-acre campus.
• Setting up and operating A/V equipment.
• Ensuring logistical setups are completed prior to event start time and cleared promptly at the close of the event.
• Assisting with oversight of vendor load-ins and load-outs.
• Interfacing with clients, vendors, guests, and Museum staff with a focus on customer service.
• Enforcing established rules and policies for sound, guests, and vendor conduct.
• Maintaining the safety of property, in conjunction with the security department.
• Attending weekly planning meetings and maintaining event equipment and supplies.
