Job summary

Kaizen seeks an experienced events leader to own the federal conference and field-marketing program in the United States. You will drive the annual events calendar, strategy, and budget while coordinating with sales, Brand & Storytelling, and Government Affairs to optimize sponsorships and executive engagements.

You will manage booth production, AV, shipping, and run-of-show documents, ensuring timely deliverables and high-impact briefings for senior government audiences.

Qualifications

  • 4–10 years in events, experiential marketing, or field marketing.
  • Direct ownership of events strategy and budget.
  • Demonstrated experience owning a conference circuit, including shows, sponsorship value, booth production, and event operations.
  • Knowledge of the federal conference landscape, or ability to learn it quickly.
  • Experience running events for federal or public sector buyers is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Build and own Kaizen’s annual events calendar and overall strategy.
  • Negotiate sponsorships, booth placement, and opportunities to pursue.
  • Own booth design, demos, collateral, swag, vendors, and production partners.
  • Run field marketing activities with sales: account targeting, outreach, meetings, travel, staffing, follow-up.
  • Plan executive dinners, agency roundtables, and closed-door briefings around major shows.
  • Secure leadership speaker placements and panel submissions in partnership with Brand & Storytelling and Government Affairs.
  • Scope event photography/video capture and run-of-show planning.
  • Own event budgets, reporting, and cost-per-meeting analysis.
  • Ensure programs comply with federal, state, and local ethics rules.

Job description

  • Build and run Kaizen’s annual events calendar around the federal buying year
  • Set the overall events strategy and own the program end-to-end
  • Evaluate conferences and sponsorships, negotiate sponsorship levels and booth placement, and determine which opportunities to pursue
  • Own booth design, demo staging, collateral, swag, vendors, and production partners
  • Run field marketing activities alongside sales, including account targeting, pre-event outreach, meeting scheduling, travel, staffing, and follow-up
  • Own executive dinners, agency roundtables, and closed-door briefings around major shows
  • Secure leadership speaker placements, panel submissions, and awards in partnership with Brand & Storytelling and Government Affairs
  • Plan photo, video, and customer-story capture into event run-of-show plans
  • Scope and build Kaizen-hosted summits, dinner series, and recurring briefings
  • Own event budget, spending tradeoffs, and reporting with BizOps
  • Tie events to pipeline, qualified meetings, and cost per meeting
  • Work with Legal to ensure programs comply with federal, state, and local ethics rules
  • Build a repeatable events playbook for Kaizen’s federal conference and field-marketing program
Requirements
  • 4–10 years in events, experiential marketing, or field marketing
  • Direct ownership of events strategy and budget
  • Demonstrated experience owning a conference circuit, including shows, sponsorship value, booth production, and event operations
  • Knowledge of the federal conference landscape, or ability to learn it quickly
  • Experience running events for federal or public sector buyers is a significant advantage
  • Experience partnering with sales on targeting and follow-up
  • Experience producing owned events such as dinners, roundtables, and summits
  • Comfortable being measured against pipeline
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable drafting invitations, event briefs, run-of-show documents, and executive preparation for senior audiences
  • Sound judgment under time pressure and public visibility
  • Strong taste and ability to defend event and sponsorship decisions
  • Operational experience with shipping, badge scans, AV, staffing, and seating plans
  • Credibility with senior government audiences
  • Vendor, agency, and production-partner management experience
  • Ability to work with high autonomy in ambiguous, fast-moving environments
  • Familiarity with AI tools and using them in daily workflows
  • Emotional intelligence, thoughtfulness, and empathy toward public-sector missions
  • Must reside in New York or DC, or be able to commute to New York City or DC and work from the office at least three times per week
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which applying; visa sponsorship may be required to disclose
