This position oversees a multi-purpose event venue that supports ice-related programming, public and private events, concerts, trade shows, sporting events, conventions, exhibitions, and hotel-related uses. The role serves as a senior property-level leader, coordinating Event Center operations with Resort leadership while ensuring the venue is operated to a professional standard, delivers strong guest and event experiences, maximizes Event Center results, and supports mutually beneficial opportunities for the overall Resort.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Event Center, including arena operations, facility maintenance coordination, housekeeping, ice maintenance, event support, box office activity, concessions management, security, parking, ushering, and guest-related services.
  • Coordinate Event Center operations with Resort leadership to ensure the venue supports both stand-alone Event Center performance and mutually beneficial Resort opportunities, including hotel group activity, public events, team uses, and private events.
  • Oversee sales, marketing, and booking efforts by helping identify target market segments, evaluate event opportunities, monitor booking pace, and contribute to the Event Center’s annual sales and marketing plan.
  • Oversee event execution planning, including staffing levels, security needs, parking plans, food and beverage coordination, ticketing and box office support, vendor coordination, promoter requirements, and event-day operating plans.
  • Responsible for financial performance by monitoring revenues, controlling expenses, labor allocation, shared-services costs, event profitability, forecasts, corrective action plans, and progress toward approved budget and stabilization targets.
  • Prepare, maintain, and support Event Center operating plans, including the annual business plan, commercial plan, staffing plan, capital plan, budget, sales and marketing plan, and related operating procedures.
  • Establish, maintain, and periodically update emergency procedures, safety protocols, incident response procedures, evacuation plans, staffing guides, training programs, and standard operating procedures appropriate for Event Center operations.
  • Manage coordination with hockey tenants, promoters, sponsors, vendors, security providers, third-party service providers, emergency responders, local authorities, Resort management, and other stakeholders as required for successful venue operations.
  • Ensure compliance with contract approval requirements by supporting contract turnover sheets, documenting event economics and operational assumptions, and escalating contracts, sponsorships, naming rights, ticketing-platform agreements, and material commitments requiring Owner authorization.
  • Serve as a senior member of the Resort leadership structure and communicate with Owner representatives and Manager leadership regarding business objectives, financial performance, strategic priorities, reporting, approvals, and information requests.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise Event Center personnel and coordinate assigned Hotel or Resort employees supporting Event Center operations, subject to approved staffing plans, budgets, labor laws, and proper allocation of labor costs.
  • Oversee event-day staffing functions, including security, parking, box office, ticketing support, ushers, concessions coordination, ice operations, housekeeping, maintenance support, and other guest-facing service needs.
  • Support recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, wage guideline administration, performance management, and employment practices for Event Center employees in coordination with Human Resources and Resort leadership.
  • Direct the work of third-party providers, contractors, promoters, vendors, and service partners as needed for safe, compliant, and successful Event Center operations.
What are we looking for?
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Prior leadership experience in event venue operations, arena operations, hospitality operations, sports and entertainment venues, or a comparable multi-purpose facility environment.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex events, including public events, private events, sporting events, entertainment events, trade shows, conventions, exhibitions, catered events, or similar venue uses.
  • Working knowledge of arena operations, facility maintenance coordination, event-day staffing, food and beverage operations, security, parking, ticketing, box office support, and guest service standards.
  • Experience with ice-related venue operations, ice maintenance, Zamboni operations, or specialized systems and equipment unique to ice facilities preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the Event Center’s commercial strategy and drive demand through sales, marketing, revenue management, and community engagement. Experience developing and executing strategies that maximize venue rentals, event attendance, and event profitability; optimize the mix of event and business types; evaluate booking pace and displacement; and increase the combined financial impact of the Event Center, Resort, and related revenue streams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including the ability to review budgets, forecasts, operating expenses, labor allocations, shared-services costs, event economics, and financial performance against approved plans.
