Job summary

Tarleton State University in Stephenville, Texas seeks an Event Center Conversion Technician to set up, operate, and breakdown sound, video, lighting, staging, crowd‑control barriers, seating, and related infrastructure for campus events.

This temporary/casual role requires a high school diploma and at least four years of event setup experience, with evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. A valid driver’s license and experience with rigging and A/V systems are preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least four (4) years of relevant experience in event setup and operation.
  • Driver’s license and university driving requirements preferred.
  • Experience with rigging, audio‑visual systems, and event staff coordination preferred.
  • Experience operating multi‑channel audio, lighting, and video equipment preferred.
  • Experience performing up‑and‑down rigging.
  • Experience scheduling, coordinating, and supervising staff.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate sound, video, lighting, staging, crowd‑control barriers, seating, and other event equipment.
  • Move and operate equipment following standard safety procedures.
  • Provide excellent customer service to event attendees and staff.
  • Complete general documentation, reports, and updates in a timely manner.
  • Assist in planning future activities by documenting events and reviewing past records.
  • Assist with filling shifts and special event requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
