Job summary

Chartwells Higher Education is seeking a Catering Server to deliver and serve food and beverages at scheduled functions in Washington, DC. You will assemble and deliver all food for events, maintain temperatures, assist with prep, and arrange buffet setups to meet standards.

You will provide plated service, respond to guest requests, keep equipment clean, and help with inventory, closeout tasks, and safe operation of the catering facility.

Qualifications

• Must have valid Food Handler Certificate or provincial equivalent and Responsible Beverage Service Certificate for the province applying.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment.
• Physical ability to carry out duties.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assemble and deliver all food and supplies for catered functions to scheduled locations.
• Log and maintain food temperatures.
• Assist with food and table prep before events.
• Arrange buffet tables with food, beverage, and service items according to standards.
• Serve plated dinners to guests and respond to requests for beverages and other needs.
• Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service.
• Thoroughly clean location after event and assist with inventory and closeout tasks.
• Return equipment to catering facility and stock/clean catering area.
• Ensure guests receive friendly, courteous service at all times.
• Maintain knowledge of complete menu and products on hand.
• Follow safety and sanitation policies at all times.
• May drive a catering delivery truck.
