Job Requirements

The City of Onalaska is seeking to hire Event Attendants and Lead Event Attendants. Employees in these positions are responsible for various tasks related to concessions and event operations. Scheduled hours vary for each event and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends. These are considered Limited Term Employment positions. Work is reviewed by the Event/Recreation Coordinator.

Essential Job Functions

• Greet customers in a friendly and timely manner and take concession orders.
• Assist in kitchen processes such as preparation, cooking, and serving products.
• Process orders on the cash register and return correct change; follow city cash handling policies and procedures.
• Balance cash drawer each shift or as directed following established policies.
• Prepare and provide concession supplies ordered by customers.
• Maintain cleanliness in the concession area and surrounding eating areas.
• Follow safe food handling procedures at all times.
• Assist with event setup and teardown, open skate, box office, and pro-shop duties.
• Contribute to a cooperative working environment by performing other job-related tasks as needed.

Lead Event Attendant Responsibilities

In addition to the above, lead attendants are responsible for supervising a crew to complete daily customer service tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum age of 14.
• Prior cash handling experience preferred.
• For Lead Attendants, a High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
