The California Public Employees’ Retirement System (CalPERS) is seeking an Event and Project Coordinator to lead the planning and coordination of our educational events and support impactful member education initiatives that help members make informed retirement decisions.
In this role, you will independently coordinate events from start to finish to ensure every event runs smoothly and successfully. You’ll work closely with management, internal teams, external stakeholders, and cross-divisional partners to bring educational events to life, while helping promote CalPERS member education programs and services through effective marketing and communication efforts.
You’ll also play a key role in project coordination and continuous improvement efforts that support the Member Education program and broader organizational goals. From developing project plans and tracking milestones, analyzing performance metrics and recommending improvements, your work will directly contribute to the success of CalPERS educational services.

This position is eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

Effective July 1, 2025, The California Department of Human Resources (CalHR) implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025). PLP 2025 directs that each employee shall receive a 3 percent reduction in pay in exchange for 5 hours PLP 2025 leave credits, monthly. The salary range(s) included in the job advertisement do not reflect the 3 percent reduction in pay.
