Job summary

Catholic Charities, Archdiocese of New York is seeking an Activity Specialist to help participants grow artistically.

This part-time role involves developing, teaching and maintaining scheduled activities across arts disciplines, with evening hours and occasional Saturdays. Applicants should be 18+ with a High School Diploma or GED; 1 year of creative arts experience and ability to teach groups is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; AA or BA degree a plus.
• Minimum 18 years old and 1 year experience in the field and high level of knowledge in Creative Arts.
• Experience teaching or training individuals in group settings; experience with lesson plan development.

Responsibilities

• Develop, teach & maintain scheduled Activities across arts disciplines.
• Organize and create art exhibitions, dance routines, theater presentations, music recitals and poetry jams.
• Assist with recruitment and retention of participants.
• Maintain site bulletin boards and produce flyers for events.
• Maintain daily attendance for all courses; submit weekly reports to the Program Director.
• Attend staff meetings, trainings, and special events; assist other staff as needed.
