Job summary

Inova Alexandria Hospital – Oakville Emergency Department is seeking a dedicated Unit Secretary to join the team. This full-time role covers 12-hour evening shifts (11am–11pm or 12pm–12am) with every 5th weekend, totaling 36 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Education: High School or GED.
• Certification: BLS if also a Clinical Technician.
• Experience in healthcare and EPIC systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs clerical tasks to support unit operations.
• Maintains physician and lab databases and supplies.
• Attends meetings and records minutes as requested.
• Maintains confidentiality and accuracy of patient charts.
• Updates and files test results and discharge times in patient charts.
• Assists in answering call bells and communicates patient needs to staff.
