Job summary

Adult Correction is seeking a Youth Program Education Assistant II (S) at Whitaker PRTF in Butner, NC. The role provides psychiatric-mental health nursing care to 18 residents on an evening shift (3:00pm - 11:30pm).

A $2,500 sign-on bonus may be offered, contingent on budget approval for 2025-2026. Minimum qualifications are listed in the vacancy, with preferred KSAs including collaboration with clinical staff and ability to work with residents, families, and professionals.

Qualifications

• Ability to establish good working relationships with paraprofessionals, professionals, residents, and parents.
• Knowledge of practical application of task analysis and goal setting with BED/BEH residents.
• Working knowledge of problems and needs of severely emotional and assaultive youth.
• Ability to work and plan with clinical staff in assessing child behavior and planning and implementing treatment plans.
• Must be able to obtain certification in NVCI/APT, and recertification as required, CPR with recertification annually, and Fire Safety Training annually.

Responsibilities

• Provide psychiatric-mental health nursing care for residents at Whitaker PRTF.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for the 18 residents.
• Report to and coordinate with clinical staff to assess behavior and develop treatment plans.
