Iron Bridge Recovery Center in Chester, VA seeks a Peer Support Specialist to assist patients from referral through discharge, helping them develop skills to sustain recovery. You will provide peer support, advocate for clients, and connect them with community resources in a coordinated care team environment.

The role requires 3+ years in behavioral health, a Peer Specialist certification, and CPR/First Aid readiness. Evening/weekend shifts and tuition assistance are included in benefits.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Certification as a Peer Specialist required.
• CPR certification and de-escalation training preferred.
• First aid may be required depending on state or facility.

Aufgaben

• Mentor individuals to promote decision making, empowerment and engagement.
• Liaise between individuals, clinical team and community resources.
• Advocate for clients and help navigate levels of care.
• Provide peer support knowledge related to MAT and recovery.
• Assist with connecting clients to housing, daily living skills, and primary care.
• Engage with employers to aid in employment opportunities.
• Model coping strategies and self-help techniques.
• Document client status, mood, medical issues, and safety concerns.
• Attend trainings and supervision sessions as required.
