Job summary

Blue Moon TapHouse in Norfolk, VA seeks a dependable Porter to maintain a clean and welcoming environment for guests in the Waterside District. You will help with floors, dusting, trash removal, restrooms, and glass surfaces while coordinating with the front of house and maintenance teams to ensure a smooth guest experience.

This role requires reliability, ability to follow directions, and a positive attitude.

Qualifications

• Courteous and pleasant to all guests.
• Ability to work as a team with fellow porters and other staff.
• English speaking skills are beneficial, but not required.
• Ability to follow direction from supervisors/managers.
• Experience working in the porter or janitorial field is a plus, but not required.
• Previous job references are required.
• Availability to work nights, weekend and/or holidays may be required.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, scrub, mop floors
• Dust furniture and fittings
• Empty and clean trash containers
• Dispose of trash in a sanitary manner
• Clean and stock restrooms
• Wipe down glass surfaces
• Wash windows as scheduled
• Operate mechanized cleaning equipment
• Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition
• Monitor and report necessary repairs and replacements
• Other duties as assigned
