Job summary

Barrel House is seeking a Line Cook for our kitchen team. You will prepare, cook, and present dishes according to our standards in a fast-paced environment. Night and weekend availability is required.

Responsibilities include cooking to recipes, maintaining portion control, monitoring temperatures, communicating with staff, and ensuring safety and sanitation guidelines are followed. Previous kitchen experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be able to prepare menu items according to recipes and customer requests.
• Able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Experience safely handling a variety of kitchen tools, including sharp knives.
• Able to communicate effectively and follow written and oral instructions.
• Capable of multitasking under pressure in a busy kitchen.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards, ensuring quality and presentation.
• Adhere to portion control and cost-effective food preparation.
• Monitor food temperatures and use thermometers to ensure proper cooking and storage.
• Report issues with food quality or delays to the kitchen leadership.
• Track inventory levels and alert staff to low stock situations.
• Ensure all dishes meet quality expectations from the station.
• Follow procedures for handling food allergies and dietary restrictions.
• Maintain health, safety, and sanitation guidelines and clean kitchen equipment.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team and other staff to ensure smooth operation.
• Undertake additional tasks to support efficient kitchen operations.
