St. John’s University seeks a compassionate and qualified Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join the CAPS team on a part-time, hourly basis. The role focuses on serving college students’ mental health with direct clinical services, including individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, and outreach.

Services are offered primarily during evenings and weekends to meet student needs. The position requires a Master’s degree, active licensure, and at least 1 year of post-licensure

Qualificações

• Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• Active and unrestricted licensure in the state (e.g., LMHC, LCSW, LPC, or equivalent).
• Minimum of 1 year of post-licensure clinical experience, preferably in a college or young adult setting.
• Strong clinical skills in assessment, crisis response, and brief counseling.
• Experience working with diverse populations (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, international students, students with disabilities).
• Commitment to ethical standards and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.

Responsabilidades

• Provide short-term, goal-oriented individual counseling to a diverse student population.
• Conduct crisis intervention and risk assessments; provide referrals as needed.
• Maintain timely and accurate clinical documentation.
• Collaborate with campus partners for coordinated student care.
• Participate in outreach and wellness events promoting mental health awareness.
• Attend staff meetings and supervision as scheduled.
