Job summary

The University of Chicago Library Regenstein Circulation & Building Resources is looking for a Supervising Access Services professional to oversee security, manage lending and reserves, and guide a team of clerical staff and student workers.

You will answer patron questions, enforce policies, and coordinate with Facilities Services while delivering excellent service in a large academic library setting.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of work experience in a related library role.
• Minimum vocational training or equivalent experience.
• Experience with MS Office, email, and internet applications.

Responsibilities

• Supervises clerical staff and student circulation workers; oversees Regenstein Library operations.
• Executes opening/closing procedures and reports issues to facilities services.
• Enforces policies to maintain a scholarly environment and handles patron concerns.
• Troubleshoots library technology including public workstations and equipment.
• Provides excellent customer service in person, by phone, and online.
