Job summary

CSU Stanislaus invites applications for a Library Student Assistant (Late nights & weekends-SA) in the University Library, Stanislaus - Turlock. This temporary hourly-intermittent position supports patrons and staff, offering a hands-on opportunity to build customer service, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities include assisting at the Circulation Desk, shelving, and using the library system; outreach may occur occasionally.

Qualifications

• Undergrad students must be enrolled in a minimum of six Fall/Spring units.
• Graduate students must be enrolled in a minimum of four Fall/Spring units.
• Must be available to work until 12am and/or weekends.
• Able to use a computer, type, alphabetize, and follow directions from a supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assist users at the Circulation Desk, in the book stacks, and in study areas.
• Answer directional and library service-related questions.
• Refer questions to librarians or staff when appropriate.
• Assist library staff in monitoring and reporting issues throughout the library.
• Retrieve returned materials from indoor and outdoor book drops.
• Shelve all types of library materials.
• Perform shelf-reading functions.
• Use the computerized library system to check materials in and out.
• Assist with opening and closing of library.
• Some outreach tabling activities may be requested on occasion.
• Perform other duties or projects as assigned.
