Salve Regina University in Newport, RI is seeking an Event Specialist to provide on-site execution and operational support for weddings, conferences, and university events. You will serve as the on-site university representative, ensuring events run safely, professionally, and according to plans.

The role focuses on evenings and weekends, coordinating vendors, managing timelines, and collaborating with campus partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years in event, hospitality, or related operations.
• Strong customer-service orientation and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee on-site execution of weddings, external events, conferences, camps, and internal University events.
• Serve as the primary on-site UECS contact; coordinate with clients, vendors, and campus partners.
• Ensure setup, service and breakdown align with plans, diagrams, and policies.
• Coordinate vendor arrival, access, setup, service, and departure.
• Troubleshoot last-minute issues and provide client-facing support.
• Provide tours and guest-facing event support as assigned.
