Job summary

Salve Regina University in Newport, Rhode Island seeks a part-time House Manager to oversee Box Office and front-of-house operations for Music, Theatre and Dance events at the Casino Theatre, Megley Blackbox, and Ochre Court.

You will train staff, schedule performances and load-ins, market events to local audiences, and ensure life-safety policies are followed, with a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in theatre or dance is required
• House management experience is required
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Responsibilities

• Act as house manager for events; train and schedule box office staff, ushers, and volunteers.
• Maintain the Music, Theatre and Dance season calendar and university calendar entries.
• Market events to audiences beyond Salve Regina via local calendars and Mailchimp blasts.
• Coordinate with Marketing, Safety, and University Events offices as needed.
• Schedule load-ins, piano moves, tunings, ushering, parking, security, concessions, and custodial coverage.
• Communicate building, event and life-safety policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
