Job summary

American Red Cross is seeking a part-time courier in Chicago to drive a vehicle for pickup, delivery and storage of products and lightweight materials on an assigned route or as needed for Blood Services.

Responsibilities include loading, verifying orders, keeping inventory, and providing courteous customer service while complying with safety and regulatory requirements. A valid driver's license and high school equivalency are required, with prior messenger/trucking experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver's license and clean DMV record required.

Responsibilities

• Operate vehicle for delivery of blood products and materials safely and within traffic laws.
• Prepare deliveries by verifying orders and loading vehicles to ensure prompt delivery.
• Document storage and transportation of blood and materials per regulatory requirements.
• Provide customer service by informing and assisting employees and customers.
• Maintain vehicle condition, cleanliness, and check fluids and gas levels.
• Provide shipping and receiving support as directed.
