Job summary

City of La Mirada seeks a part-time maintenance worker to perform manual tasks across streets, parks, and civic facilities. The role involves operating tools, basic lawn care, and helping prepare facilities for events.

Work is typically Fri–Mon evenings (4:30pm–10:30pm) for about 24–28 hours per week, with possible schedule changes to meet department needs. Applicants should be able to lift up to 75 lbs and work in various weather conditions.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or the equivalent is required.
• Possession of a valid California Class C Driver License is required.
• CPR, AED and First Aid certification required within first three months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Open and close City facilities, parks, and athletic fields.
• Assist with graffiti abatement and dispose trash from City facilities and parks.
• Perform custodial and general maintenance of Civic Center buildings and restrooms.
• Operate a variety of equipment and hand tools.
• Weed, water, and prune shrubs, trees, and ground cover.
• Assist in set-up and take-down of equipment for City programs and events.
• Provide support for City events on nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Follow City policies and procedures and perform related duties as assigned.
