Job description

We are seeking an experienced Product Development & Garment Costing professional to oversee all aspects of garment costing for our evening and occasion wear divisions. This role manages the full costing lifecycle—from initial estimates through final actual costs—across a high-volume, multi-division product portfolio.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical garment expertise with analytical skills and the ability to partner cross-functionally with Design, Production, Sourcing, and Finance to deliver accurate, margin-driven costing.

Responsibilities

• Own the complete garment costing process from initial estimate through final actual costing.
• Develop and maintain detailed cost sheets for evening and occasion wear garments.
• Calculate and validate fabric consumption, yardages, and placement yardages for printed and specialty fabrics.
• Create and review markers and grading while utilizing computerized marker-making systems to optimize fabric yield.
• Cost both domestic and imported garments, including labor, duty, freight, and landed costs.
• Analyze garment construction to accurately determine labor operations and manufacturing costs.
• Reconcile estimated versus actual costs and identify cost variances.
• Manage high SKU volumes across multiple divisions with a high level of accuracy.
• Partner with domestic and overseas factories, raw material vendors, and internal cross-functional teams to support pricing, sourcing, and margin objectives.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in apparel product development and garment costing, preferably within evening wear, occasion wear, luxury, or better/designer apparel. You should have strong expertise in garment construction, fabric yield calculations, marker making, grading, and labor costing, along with experience costing both domestic and imported production.

Hands‑on experience with TUKAtech, Gerber, and Lectra is required, as is proficiency with Excel and apparel PLM, ERP, or costing systems. The ability to manage large SKU volumes while maintaining exceptional accuracy is essential.

Experience working with specialty fabrics such as satin, mikado, beaded, sequined, printed, and directional fabrics is highly preferred, along with familiarity with landed cost calculations and global manufacturing.
