Job summary

NorCal Produce – UNFI in West Sacramento is hiring a warehouse associate to operate equipment, select pick locations, build pallets, and uphold safety and productivity in a climate-controlled distribution center.

You will work Sundays, have two days off midweek, start at 2 PM, and be eligible for incentive pay ($0.25–$7.50 per hour) plus benefits after 30 days, including 401K and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year warehouse experience preferred
• Experience with electrical pallet jack, or similar
• Ability to select at established minimum rate
• Exposed to temperatures ranging from 30 – 35 degrees Fahrenheit
• Good judgement is required for this position as there may times when direct supervisor may not be immediately available
• Lifting objects weighing from less than 60lbs – 100 lbs. consistently
• Occasionally pushing, sitting, touching, reaching, climbing, pulling and gripping

Responsibilities

• Inspects assigned jack for safety issues
• Enters the proper information into the productivity measure
• Identifies the correct pick location and pick sequence in accordance to the order
• Pick the correct item and quantity, checking UPC’s or item descriptions
• Places pick labels on the side of the cases
• Correctly identifies Master Case locations
• Identifies and immediately reports miss-located products
• Shrink wraps and labels with correct truck, stop and other required information
• Stages pallets in appropriate bay
• Keeps area clean and debris out of work area
• Immediately informs a supervisor or manager of any potential safety threats
• Obtains aisle-cleaning assignment
• Operates pallet jack/pushcart in a safe and efficient manner
• Reports to supervisor or leave any violation of company policy
• Builds a stable and well cubed pallet
