Job summary

Saint Peter's Healthcare System is seeking a Virtual RN for evenings on-site in the Med-Surg Float Pool. The role focuses on virtual admissions, discharges, and ongoing remote clinical support to ensure safe, coordinated patient care.

The RN must be licensed in New Jersey and hold BLS certification. BSN is preferred or must be obtained within three years of hire; experience in patient education, discharge planning, care coordination, or virtual nursing is a plus.

Qualifications

• NJ RN license required.
• BSN preferred or must be obtained within 3 years of hire.
• BLS certification required per AHA standards.
• Experience with patient education, discharge planning, care coordination or virtual nursing preferred.
• Self-directed, proactive professional who can navigate barriers and adapt to evolving workflows.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual admission/discharge assessments within established timeframes.
• Assess health status and provide remote clinical support to inpatient units.
• Collaborate with bedside nurses to validate assessments and coordinate safe, high-quality patient care.
• Provide patient and family education and reinforce discharge instructions.
• Escalate clinical issues promptly to ensure safe transitions of care.
